In all honesty, we started this organization thinking we’d go with the name Ahimsa.
Ahimsa is defined as: The principle of nonviolence toward all living things.
We loved that! As we researched the term, we found many companies have already adapted the word as a company name. It’s all over the place and becoming overly commercialized. That, of course, wouldn’t do.
Our founder, disappointed at first, finally said, “Fine. Instead of Ahimsa, why not Ahersa?”
The rest is history.
Ahersa embodies the values of Ahisma and believes in compassion and love toward everything with a heartbeat. That includes the smallest fruit fly to your obnoxious neighbor who doesn’t get why you don’t eat meat.
We love everyone, whatever their beliefs or attitude toward us. If we all love each other, the world will be a better place. If we work togeher to raise compassionate children, the world will be a better place. If we teach parents and teachers how to respect and interact with children, the world will be a better place.
That’s our mission. That’s our purpose. That’s Ahersa.
